Category: News

Scotland’s Heritage Partnership is now present on Linkedin and sharing regular news from our visitor attraction partners, including destination stories and business updates relevant to the travel trade.

Every year, in April we gather as a team in one aisle at VisitScotland Expo to welcome travel trade buyers from the UK and overseas. We see this as our most important business to business event of the year and also the opportunity to socialise with our colleagues in the partnership and wider tourism industry.

Many of our partners have enjoyed meeting up on the virtual circuit that has been so key this last year, and are working towards appointments for Scotland Reconnect this month, but we have missed our real time networking opportunities and can’t wait for those moments again in the future.

The organisation has grown, from the initial strategic partnership of 3 major heritage organisations in 2007 ( Historic Environment Scotland, National Trust for Scotland & Historic Houses), to have a major presence at Expo with over 24 key Scottish tourism businesses representing over 800 of Scotland’s finest visitor attractions, stretching from Kirkwall on Orkney to Kirkcudbright in the south.

As a reminder of our Expo presence highlights over the last 13 + years as a partnership include our heritage half hour drinks parties in the aisle; proudly presenting our Tour Operator of The Year awards annually; hosting the VisitScotland Tuesday night gala at Edinburgh Castle in 2016 and celebrating our 10th anniversary with a special cake.

Right now we are all looking forward to be open again for 2021 summer, from 26th April in the main as the sector re-opens.

The Royal Edinburgh Botanic Garden joined the group in 2020 and in 2021 The Great Tapestry of Scotland joins us, and is opening in a brand new building in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders later this year. We look forward to sharing all our good news and product development with you on linkedin and we are committed to working with the travel trade as ever to explore, discover and enjoy the very best of Scotland’s heritage attractions for successful seasons to come.

Variations on re-opening dates and times exist. See individual business websites for up to date information
